Statement to the members

President Ken Richards and the Board have accepted the resignation of Vladimir Karpov as the Vice President of DanceSport – Ballroom Division. Below is his statement to the members of USA Dance.

Dear Colleagues,

I regret to inform you that I will be resigning from the position of Vice President of the Ballroom Division in USA Dance. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported me during my time in this role.

Over the past few years, we made significant efforts to expand the dancesport division and witnessed a growth in the number of dancers and officials within our organization.

Unfortunately, due to my current circumstances, I am unable to fully dedicate myself to this position. It requires someone who can devote a considerable amount of time, which I am unable to do at this moment. Therefore, I have made the difficult decision to resign.

Although I will no longer have an official position, I remain committed to seeing USA Dance continue to expand and support the direction we are taking to do so.

I want to wish everyone in USA Dance the best of luck, and I hope to have the pleasure of seeing you all on the dance floor again soon.

In accordance with our Bylaws, President Richards is accepting applications for those interested in serving out the remainder of the term. The appointed member will serve as a voting member of the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and will lead the Ballroom DanceSport Council. The member should be a DanceSport member in good standing and preferably not an active athlete. Please send an email, your letter of interest, and resume to president@usadance.org no later than 8pm, August 5th, 2023.
