Kansas City Dance Classic

The Kansas City Dance Classic was held on its new dates, June 28-29, at the Marriott Overland Park in Overland Park, Kansas.  This Regional, celebrating its 11th year as a USA Dance competition, proved to attract dancers of all Styles, ages, and levels, plus a few extras.

With a focus on Amateur couples, Kansas City had no problem drawing a large number of Seniors, as Organizers Matt and Ellen Pansing seem to have perfected the recipe for a Senior-friendly competition. 

This year, the event once again attracted a few “different kinds” of dancers.  Joining our Ballroom, Smooth, Rhythm, and Latin couples, were Country Western Dancers decked out in boots and stylish cowboy hats.  These talented and entertaining dancers demonstrated their Country Waltz – along with Country Two Step, Polka, East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Cha Cha, and Viennese Waltz.  It was a lot of fun to dance and watch.
