Don't miss the Action! When and Where to Watch!

The Summer Olympics are on in Paris, France, with 32 sports and 329 medal events. Everyone has their favorite Olympic Sport, whether it is swimming, gymnastics, track & field, soccer, basketball…the list goes on.  However, USA Dance members, will be leaning forward on August 9 and August 10, when USA Dance’s Breaking Athletes take to the floor for a chance to win it all.

The United States has over 500 athletes competing for the Gold, and included in their ranks are four Breaking Athletes: B-girl Sunny “Sunny” Choi (35) from Queens, New York; B-boy Victor “Victor” Montalvo (30) from Kissimmee, Florida; B-girl Logan “Logistix” Edra (21) from San Diego, California; and B-boy Jeffrey “Jeffro” Louis (29) from Houston, Texas.

CNN just posted a great story about this event and its history.

The Women Breaking Qualifications are scheduled to air at 10:00 a.m EDT on August 9, followed by the Final at 2:00 p.m.   The Men’s Breaking Qualification are scheduled to air at 10 a.m. EDT on August 10, followed by the Final at 2:00 p.m.  [Note:   Paris is six hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time.] Plus, the Breaking events will be featured on NBC on August 9-10 at 8 p.m. EDT.

The Olympics will also be streamed on PeacockNBCOlympics.com, and the NBC Sports app, and is also available on Apple’s App Store and Google’s Google Play Store.

As of the update of this story on Tuesday, August 6 (10:00 a.m. EDT), the United States is tied with China in the gold medal count, but first in the total medal count, with 21 Gold Medals, 30 Silver Medals, and 28 Bronze Medals for a total of 79 Medals.  Let’s see if our Breaking athletes can push those numbers along!

If you want to better understand the sport before you watch the Olympics, Breaking rules, moves, format, and judging criteria are explained on the Official Olympic Website.

So, now you know the who, what, when, where, why, and how.  Get ready to cheer on our athletes.
