The Pantone Color of the Year!

Editor’s Note:  USA Dance Members Julie Wilson and Abigail Bruggeman, have again translated the world’s current fashion trends into ballroom creations for our USA Dancers!

At American Dancer, we are always dancing, but Pantone is ready to dance all year long!

As the temperatures began dropping and the first snowflakes fell, Pantone announced its 2026 Color of the Year: Cloud Dancer, a shade perfect for those early frost-covered days.

The color is a muted white with a warm gray undertone, reminiscent of clouds dancing in front of a golden sun. The color marks a year set for relaxation and serenity. A slow waltz, perhaps? With its billowy lightness and versatility, it is the perfect canvas for any space or, in our case, ballroom gown. And you know what they say in ballroom, “winners wear white.”

Cloud Dancer is set to grace the ballroom dance floor with these stunning white gowns… Experience the cloud-like texture of white ostrich feathers and elevate your stage presence with Cloud Dancer. Consider an ostrich feather trim on a Hollywood-style, smooth gown, such as Oh Odette. For cumulus couture, try cloud-like puffy sleeves on Lola. Lastly, for a sultry, stratus-inspired look, choose a high slit embellished with feathers, as showcased on Dazzling Desire.

In a more literal sense, floats create a Cloud Dancer commotion. Consider Floral Fantasy, featuring feathered floats that resemble the clouds above.

Or, you could opt for something simpler, like Crescent Moon, which showcases a feathery trim.

Lastly, if you’re looking to showcase the stunning shade on the dance floor in 2026, consider French Twist or Winged Athena. Their elegant draped details and subtle crystal embellishments sparkle like stars in a cloudy night sky. Plus, their Cloud Dancer colored fabrics are guaranteed to make a statement!
