Dear Members, I thought it was time for me to touch base. We are in the process of building a “coalition of the willing.” The philosophy is to find and work with as many like-minded members as possible to continually move our organization forward. My primary interest is in what we can do and making things happen. Our goal is for every member to feel that USA Dance has a place for them and that their goals and desires are important. We want to ensure that each member feels as valued as every other member. We must address the needs of our members one at a time. I have appointed a Bylaws Committee to draft the 2025 Bylaws. I expect the committee to complete its work in the next few weeks, at which time, we will make them available to the entire membership for comment. Subsequently, the Board will vote to either accept or reject them. We are working diligently to better serve our chapters. While we are making progress, it is sometimes a slow process. One challenge we face is ensuring every chapter can view its membership roster and renewal dates. If that is a problem for your chapter, please respond to this email and let me know. For our competitors: We continue to strengthen our relationship with the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) based on mutual interest and respect. We have engaged in numerous positive communications. WDSF is on our side; they want USA Dance to succeed, and that success positions us as an asset to them. Today, I want to reaffirm to each of you that our direction and vision remain steadfast. Now more than ever, I believe in the enduring spirit of USA Dance; it is something worth cherishing and protecting. Our strength as an organization lies in unity, and our future is bright when we move forward together. You are our best marketers! I encourage every member to get involved; this is your organization. There are actions you can do to help! Tell others about USA Dance. Include the words “USA Dance” on your chapter and personal dance posts. Also, please share American Dancer and the USA Dance Inc., and Member-Forum Facebook posts. We want to hear from you! Share your concerns and ideas for improvement with your representatives. We have asked leaders to actively listen and communicate the thoughts of the members they represent. This organization has immense potential because of you! Together, and only together, can we continue to grow and elevate ballroom dancing across the United States. USA Dance is on the Move!
