Greetings USA Dance Members,
As Summer speeds into Fall, I want to take a little time to touch base with you. I have read with pride about the many activities and achievements of our chapters, the successes of our athletes, and the efforts of our leadership across the organization. I am very proud of your accomplishments!
Retirement Announcement
On July 31, 2025, Esther Freeman announced her retirement as Treasurer of USA Dance, Inc. She will continue to work during the search for a new Treasurer and will be a crucial resource in the subsequent transition.
Esther has been a vital member of USA Dance for more than 30 years, serving as President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, District Director, and actively participating in her chapter. What a valuable advocate she has been for this organization!
As Treasurer, Esther has been dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of financial and fiscal responsibility for USA Dance. Her personal qualities of integrity, hard work, and dedication to our organization are genuinely appreciated.
Accepting Applications
We are currently accepting applications for the position of Treasurer of USA Dance. This is a volunteer position. Some of the main responsibilities associated with this position are listed below.
The Treasurer:
- Is a voting member of the Board of Directors (BoD) under the guidelines for all voting delegates.
- Is the trustee of all monies, and deposits them in the manner designated by the BoD.
- Signs all checks, drafts, and notes for USA Dance, maintains complete and accurate financial records, and presents financial and operational statements to the BoD.
- Presents financial reports to the membership at the Annual General Meeting.
- Triggers an annual audit by an independent auditing company.
- Immediately transfers all USA Dance financial records and property to USA Dance upon the completion of their term of office, resignation, or removal.
- Carries out duties assigned by the President or the BoD.

Appointments
Recently, the President recommended, and the BoD approved the following appointments:
- Senior Vice President, USA Dance – Aleh Kulyba
- Senior Advisor to the President, USA Dance – Daniel O’Connell
Both are already hard at work in their new roles. We expect great things from their leadership.
USA Dance National DanceSport Championships – March 27-29, 2026 – Something for Everyone
The USA Dance Nationals Committee is doing an outstanding job of planning an exceptional National Championships event. In addition to conducting the “National Championships” for our DanceSport Athletes, we will be premiering a USA Dance “Social Dance Celebration” and a “Professional Excellence Summit.”
- Our Social Dance Celebration will feature two outstanding nights of dancing and more than 25 dance workshops.
- The Professional Excellence Summit will offer workshops, certification options for new officials, recertification for our veterans, and a wide array of information for our Professionals.
The USA Dance National DanceSport Championships will be held at the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown Hotel, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Momentum is growing for the largest and most energetic Nationals in years. Don’t miss it!
USA Dance Website
If you’ve visited the USA Dance website recently, you may have noticed a new menu tab called USA Dance Marketplace. There are two pages linked to this tab that are currently under construction. Coming soon, we will offer a “USA Dance Marketplace” for all USA Dance merchandise and a “Vendor Marketplace” where you can connect with various vendors providing dance-related products and services. These two new marketplaces are in their early stages, but we are excited about their potential for growth.
DanceSport Athlete Spotlight
USA Dance is proud of all our DanceSport athletes and would like to spotlight two couples who competed at the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) World Championships in June and July 2025.
- Anatoliy Shvarts & Tatiana Keegan – 1st place out of 110 in the 2025 WDSF Senior III Latin World Championships in Vienna, Austria. They are the WDSF World Champions!
- David Getchell & Allison Gonzalez– 4th place out of 195 in the 2025 WDSF Senior IV Standard World Championships in Bremen, Germany, and 1st place out of 90 in WDSF Senior IV Standard Open in Wuppertal, Germany!
