USA Dance Gumbo Chapter #5031 moves to Baton Rouge to incorporate all of South Louisiana dancers

To better serve the vibrant dance communities of Louisiana and Mississippi, The USA Dance Gumbo Chapter has officially relocated from New Orleans to Baton Rouge!

Gumbo Chapter Board members have been networking with SE Louisiana and South Mississippi dance communities to establish relationships of reciprocal support.

Our mission is to bring together dancers and teachers from across the region, fostering a welcoming and joyful environment for all.

Our chapter officers are diligently working on renewing old and signing up new memberships.

Our goals include:

✨ Create a fun and inclusive dance experience for all ages by partnering with area dance instructors and studios.

✨ Encourage youth participation in dance programs within schools.

✨ Support older adults by promoting movement and engagement, also to include working with those affected by Alzheimer’s.

✨Do community outreach projects, with an emphasis on these during National Ballroom Dance Week.

To better serve our membership, we will continue to have monthly dances in New Orleans. Beginning in June, we will also have dances in Baton Rouge.

The chapter dances in New Orleans for 2025 will continue to be at Starlight Ballroom on the third Saturday of each month.  Beginning June 2025, chapter dances in Baton Rouge will be hosted at the Baton Rouge Ballroom Studio on the fourth Sunday of each month.

We are thrilled about this new chapter update and look forward to growing the love of dance throughout Louisiana and beyond!  With the addition of a monthly dance in Baton Rouge, networking efforts with area dance groups, and community outreach efforts, we are very hopeful that we can increase our chapter membership and impact our community.

Stay tuned for upcoming events and opportunities to get involved.

Let’s keep dancing! ✨
