Botanical beauties to silver thrill…

Editor’s Note:  USA Dance Members Julie Wilson and Callie Maginnis, with Abigail Bruggeman, have again translated more world fashion trends into ballroom creations for our USA Dancers!

The Met Gala is undoubtedly the most anticipated event in fashion, and this year’s edition was no exception. The event theme “Garden of Time” inspired attendees to showcase their creativity and fashion sense on the mossy-green-colored carpet. As expected, Hollywood’s most renowned stars and icons graced the event with their presence, donning couture like clockwork.

Sheer dresses were the center of attention on the green carpet, with celebrities opting for different interpretations of the trend. One of the most talked about looks was Jennifer Lopez’s custom Schiaparelli gown, which was adorned with glitter and featured a plunging neckline, leaving little to the imagination. Elle Fanning also stood out in a glassy Balmain dress that looked like it was crafted from crystals. However, not all celebrities went for the bold approach. Some stars opted for a more subtle take on the trend, like Greta Lee and Emma Chamberlain, who wore nakedness under layers of lace.

If you love to flaunt its style and show confidence on the dance floor, then embracing the sheer trend might be the perfect way to do so! Add a touch of elegance and sensuality to your ballroom wardrobe with these Rhythm Latin dresses that bear it all…

With a dress code like the “Garden of Time,” it’s no surprise the green carpet quickly transformed into a garden of glamor. From flowers to foliage, celebrities in attendance took the dress code to heart and incorporated these elements into their gowns, accessories, and headpieces. Nicki Minaj stole the show in a sculptural dress plucked straight from the garden of Marni’s spring 2024 collection.

If you’re looking to embrace this trend in your wardrobe, why not try incorporating some floral fashion into your ballroom attire with these gowns?

While the guests did not disappoint with their sheer and botanical-inspired looks, there was one element that stood out above the rest – silver. Silver looks seemed to be the trend of the night, with a plethora of celebrities ranging from Kim Kardashian to Venus Williams donning the metallic hue. Some male guests also joined in on the trend, with Rauw Alejandro shining in a silver shirt under a silk suit.

So, why not take this Met Gala trend to the ballroom with some silver dresses?
