Do you know a volunteer or chapter that should be nominated?

Editor’s Note:  The lead photo is the American Dancer August 2023 cover, which featured one of our all-time favorite volunteers, Mr. Jack Jaubert.  Read about Jack in Yanina Kisler’s article, “Jack Jaubert – Artist and Dancer.”

December Cheer Dance Friends!

I hope that you are all enjoying some indoor time with family and friends as the outside temperatures drop.  Perhaps some of that indoor time is spent at a local dance?  As 2025 draws to a close, I would like to assure you that USA Dance is on the move…the move forward!  We have been actively involved with our local dance communities, establishing 10 chapters, including several new ones, and reopening others after the COVID-19 pandemic.

We have hosted Zoom meetings for chapter leaders to assist in the recruitment and retention of volunteers and board members.  These meetings have also included training for new board members to ensure chapters can endure in the long term and operate ethically.  When a chapter runs efficiently and smoothly, there is less burnout and less turnover.  Other Zoom sessions have introduced ideas and methods for marketing to attract new audiences, so more people can experience the wonderful world of ballroom dance.

Regarding that wonderful world of ballroom dance, has there been a certain volunteer who has shown exemplary effort?  Might you know of a particular chapter that has gone the extra mile to market and recruit new dancers?  Now is YOUR opportunity to recognize them!  We are now accepting applications for the Chapter of the Year and Volunteer of the Year for 2025.

And don’t forget!  Join dancers from across the country at the USA Dance National Social Dance Celebration in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on March 27 – 29, 2026.  This weekend features a rich schedule of over 36 active dance workshops, exciting social dances, community networking opportunities, and chapter leadership workshops.  We promise memorable experiences for every attendee.  Since the event is held alongside the USA Dance National DanceSport Championships, participants may also enjoy spectator access to watch the Championship events throughout the weekend!  Check out the link and flyer below!

From our dance family to yours, we wish you the warmest wishes for a joyful, musical, cheerful, and healthy holiday season! Now and always! We truly appreciate your interest and support throughout the year. Our dedication and efforts mean little without you, as you are the reason we do what we do.

Thank you, everyone.  Blessings!
