The North Central New Mexico Chapter #5047 invites dancers to Shimmy like Santa at their Holiday Party: 3 – 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15. It’s their last dance of the year and a Member Appreciation Dance, which means free admission for USA Dance members. Others pay $10.
Come early for a quickstep lesson, taught by David Lopez of Santa Fe, at 2:15 p.m.
They encourage dancers to dress up in festive semi-formal holiday wear. Dancers are also welcome to bring finger foods to share, along with toothpicks or serving tongs.
Debra Williams and Perry Pedersen (pictured) will also perform a Nightclub Two-Step, and there will be a brief election to fill two vacancies on the chapter board.
Non-members of USA Dance will be invited to join USA Dance online or at the dance if they wish.
Need a desk job? The Chapter is also seeking volunteers to staff the check-in desk at their 2025 parties. It’s a great way to meet fellow dancers and to help host these dances.
Desk volunteers get free admission and are on duty from 2 – 3:30 p.m., leaving plenty of dancing time. They collect money from dancers and sign them in. Volunteers can work alongside a partner of their choice, or be paired with a second person.
Interested? Please contact Sandy King by email (NatureSand@gmail.com) or text — (505) 232-8968 — and let her know which date you can volunteer. Our dances are on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month.
