The Southern Star Chapter of Valrico, Florida, held a fun Chapter Dance on January 17, 2025, entitled “Shiny New Year!
The Dance Entertainment segment of the monthly dance showcased long-time members and amateur competitors, Walt and Jan Ward. They performed a series of four dances that illustrated the journey of a couple meeting, falling in love, getting married, and navigating life together. The romantic moments were depicted with a Rumba, followed by a proposal represented as an East Coast Swing, and the wedding danced as a Waltz. Their married life was portrayed through a Foxtrot, symbolizing their journey in wedded bliss.
The showcase was a fun and creative way to convey a story through dance, providing great entertainment for everyone in attendance at the first performance of 2025!
The evening’s events included dance mixers, door prize drawings, and a 50/50 drawing. The Chapter even included two roaming professional dance hosts to ensure that all the ladies could share in the fun.
The chapter members were excited to welcome USA Dance District 9 Director Janet Martin, who donated several items for the evening’s door prizes.
The Southern Star Chapter dances on the third Friday each month and invites anyone in the area to join them. The theme for February is, “Love of Dancing!”
