Valentine's Dance a lot of fun! All invited to next event!

Ruth Wilbourne Gandel, Membership Coordinator for USA Dance TriCities Chapter 6060, wrote in to talk about the Chapter’s Valentine’s Dance.

USA Dance Chapter #6060 Dancers enjoy an evening of friends and fun!

There was a highly energetic and enthusiastic crowd, Saturday, February 10, at the Valentine’s Dance, held at the Wesley Fellowship Hall in Colonial Heights, Virginia.  Beautiful Valentine’s decorations, provided by Melissa Morris, created the perfect atmosphere for the night, and Jennifer Ambs brought a Disco ball which upped the energy level.

Judy and Bobby Chiles taught an excellent Shag lesson and later that evening showcased their talents with an advanced Shag routine.  Then Judy put on the tunes and took requests the rest of the evening.

Judy and Bobby Chiles taught Shag and put on a great showcase!

“Smiling faces were everywhere,” said Chapter President Louise Winheim.  “The lesson by Bobby and Judy Chiles as well as their showcase was fantastic.  The energy on the dance floor was undeniable…We had a raffle for boxes of Valentine candy which brought sweet comments and more smiles.”

The evening was topped off with member-provided tasty treats and a birthday cake for Rock Foster.

Tri-Cities dances are the social events to attend in South Central Virginia.  The members love to dance!  This is a fun opportunity to get some exercise, see old friends and make new ones, and dance to great music.

USA Dance Tri-Cities Chapter #6060 was formed in late 1997 and celebrated its 20th anniversary in December 2017.

Chapter #6060 holds its dances on the second Saturday every month, 7:00-9:30 p.m., at the Wesley United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 3701 Conduit Road, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.  They start with a 45-minute dance lesson taught by a local dance instructor and enjoy social dancing to a variety of music.  They also have theme dances which are a great hit with the dancers.  No partner is required.  No reservation is needed.

“I am still charged up from the Tri-Cities Valentine’s Dance,” said Louise. “We will be planning our March — St. Patrick’s Day — Dance, which I know will be a hit too.  We have Jay Henderson coming to teach Bachata and Katherine and Rock Foster from Dance Masters will be dancing a showcase.  This is so exciting!  Put on your dance shoes and come March 9th to the Tri-Cities dance…and bring a friend.  See you there!”
