Announces a Milestone in DanceSport Evolution.

1st of June 2024

We are pleased to announce the launch of the new WDSF website this weekend.

The new website is the culmination of over a year’s work, aligning WDSF with the best examples from other stakeholders within the Olympic Movement. This achievement is visually celebrated on our homepage with the special colours of the WDSF logo, black and gold, marking the inclusion of Breaking in the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

We are excited about the improvements and new features that make the WDSF website a true reflection of WDSF as the “Home of all DanceSport,” showcasing the goals and values outlined in the WDSF Agenda 2032, including:
1.      Home of all DanceSport/Developing all DanceSport disciplines to their fullest potential
2.      Olympic Federation
3.      Governance
4.      Development and growth
5.      Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion
6.      Professional Organization and Operation
7.      Sustainability

The following features were implemented on the new WDSF website:

  • Design change from black to white colour scheme.
  • More efficient menu display.
  • The National Administration (former RLS) website, the personal profile (athletes/officials/other) website, and the public website are now separated and can evolve at their own pace.
  • The complexity of the public website has been reduced.
  • New features can now be implemented faster and with less complexity, due to clearer areas of responsibility.
  • The technology used in the new website is up-to-date and more efficient.
  • More sustainable from a financial perspective as is occupies less space, reducing cloud costs.
  • The website is now more responsive (faster) to the user.
  • Better development tools with the possibility of developing new features more easily.
  • The new design is more mobile-friendly.
  • The website is “lighter” which makes it load much faster.
  • All logins are now done through a single place, allowing better access and security.
  • Many more…

To facilitate the transition, the current and new versions of the website will coexist on the same page for a period of time.
