The USA Dance Ballroom Committee (BAC) remains hard at work regenerating the USA Dance circuit, recruiting new organizers, and attracting existing independent competitions to our banner.
The Solar Flare DanceSport Challenge will return to Phoenix, Arizona in October. In addition, there are four USA Dance Collegiate Events to announce. Carnegie Classic (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) and OSU DanceSport Classic (Columbus, Ohio) will be held in October. U Dance Fest (Twin Cities, Minnesota) will be held in early March. LV Desert Challenge is a Collegiate Competition in Las Vegas, Nevada held at the end of April.
We expect to have a number of Challenges and Collegiate competitions to announce in future Digests, so stay tuned for more details about these new events!
To help you with planning, here is the current state of the circuit:
the circuit is at 14 competitions, up from seven this time last year.
- We are confident there will be additional competitions this year.
- As always, we suggest making your initial plans based on the already sanctioned events, rather than those we might have in the future.
- Competitions will be promptly announced once sanctioned
As we get closer to Nationals, competitors will be welcome to submit qualifying waivers for documented medical issues or other extenuating circumstances that prevent a competitor from reasonably qualifying. However, it is suggested to get qualified as early as possible, while you are all healthy.
In the future, the BAC will provide an overview of the competition types, the qualifying process, and help you decide your best path to qualifying for Nationals.

Competitors, do you need help with an issue or concern, contact your DanceSport representatives. Would you like to read the BAC Meeting minutes to better know the issues. They are posted on the USA Dance Website.
