We all like to hear about shiny, happy people, and there is nothing better than shiny, happy people in bling!
Of course, American Dancer was thrilled to hear about the dancers of USA Dance North Central Mexico Chapter #5047, who blinged it up for the first dance of 2025!
Happy Blingy New Year!!!
This group lived up to its promises: “Whether you love to glide across the ballroom floor to a lyrical Waltz, or shake your hips to a groovy salsa,” you will find a home or at least a place to dance with them.
They “host social ballroom and Latin dances that bring New Mexicans together, welcoming all dancers, from beginners to competitors, from students to Super Seniors, and from tangueros to Two-Steppers.
Their New Year’s dance looked like a good one, including beautiful dancers, lovely friends, smiling faces, and bling everywhere!!! Thank you for sending your photos to American Dancer.
Founded in 2006, North Central Mexico Chapter #5047 is the local chapter of USA Dance.
Albuquerque and Santa Fe offer many resources for social dancers, from great dance studios and teachers to organizations like ours that host community dances. This Chapter dances at the Albuquerque Square Dance Center on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month from 3 to 5 p.m., with a lesson at 2:15 p.m. Admission for the lesson and dance is only $5 for USA Dance members and $10 for others.
View their calendar to see their dance schedule, and read their news page for updates. Or drop them a line with your questions.
As a nonprofit organization, USA Dance of North Central New Mexico does not endorse any particular studio, instructor, or club. However, it does encourage area dancers to check out what’s available. If you’d like to get on this list on behalf of yourself (as an independent dance teacher), your studio, or your dance club, please email info@usadancenm.org.
The Chapter reminds everyone that becoming a USA Dance member not only saves you money at their chapter dances, but makes you eligible for local and national discounts on dancewear, apparel, online dance classes, and more. It connects you with a national group of fellow ballroom dance enthusiasts and local chapters like the North Central New Mexico Chapter, so you can find a place to dance when you travel. And it lets you support many good causes, including dance education for children, teens and college students and dance programs for Special Olympians.
